Downtown Rock Hill will host “Food Truck Fridays” in Fountain Park starting next week. The free event will run every third Friday from May to September.
Organizers say Food Truck Fridays will include live music, kids activities with food and alcohol for sale. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m.
At least 10 food trucks will attend, said Cathy Murphy, the city’s downtown development manager.
The event will be family-friendly, she said, and give people a chance “to relax after a long week.”

Next week’s entertainment will be provided by local group Suttle Band. Food options will include barbecue, Cuban and Asian fare, desserts, snow cones, and a variety of other “street foods.”
Music at later Food Truck Fridays will be provided by Fantasy Band (June 19), Matt Tucker Band (July 17), Zach Ludlam and the Flatland Tourists (Aug. 21), and Ansel Couch and the Plair Band (Sept. 18). For updates on food truck vendors and entertainment, go to the Only in Old Town Facebook page.
Murphy encourages people to walk to downtown Rock Hill on Fridays for the events and bring lawn chairs or blankets to sit outside.
Fountain Park, Rock Hill’s newest park, opened last year at the corner of East Main Street and Elizabeth Lane.
The amphitheater series features the classic rock band Kansas on June 12 and KC and the Sunshine Band on Aug. 14.
