22 every day, 8,000 a year: York ceremony raises awareness about veteran suicide

The Angels In Disguise Program hosted a veteran suicide awareness prevention and awareness ceremony Saturday at Black’s Peach Farm in York.

Following opening ceremonies, Jacky Bayne, twice declared dead in Vietnam, welcomed veterans.

The culmination of the event was a presentation at 2:22 p.m., a time reference to the national statistics of 22 veterans who commit suicide every day, according to the group.
