Chester woman killed in a single vehicle crash in York County

A Chester woman was killed in a single vehicle accident Saturday night in York County, officials said.

The wreck happened around 7:40 p.m. on Highway 321 near Bryson Park in McConnells, said Master Trooper Gary Miller of South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of a four-door Kia sedan, traveling north on Highway 321, went off the left side of the road, struck the road signs, and went into a ditch before going into an embankment and overturning, Miller said.

Tempest Sadha Davis Evans, 21, was pronounced dead at the scene, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said.

Evans was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car, Miller said.

There were no passengers in the car or other vehicles involved, Miller said. Toxicology testing is pending, Gast said.

The crash is still under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol and the York County Coroner’s Office.
