2 Chester men killed in highway crash when car overturns, officials say

Two Chester men were killed when the car they were in overturned, officials said.

Antonio Worthy, 46, and Jamal B. Perkins, 40, died after the wreck late Tuesday night, said Tommy Williams of the Chester County Coroner’s Office.

The car the men were in overturned near railroad tracks on York Road in Chester, Williams said. Both men were ejected from the vehicle, Williams said.

Perkins died at the scene and Worthy died at a hospital after he was taken from the crash site, Williams said.

The crash remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Chester Police Department, officials said.

The fatalities are the ninth and 10th deaths on Chester County roads in 2019, according to the S.C. Department of Public Safety.
