Lancaster woman killed Saturday in single-vehicle crash

The driver involved in a single-vehicle collision in Great Falls Saturday has died, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Konesha Patterson, 28, of Lancaster, was identified as the fatality in the crash. She was transported by emergency medical services to Lancaster Medical Center.

The cause of death was blunt force trauma, Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker said.

The single passenger, identified as Billy Mobley, 67, also of Lancaster, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center.

Both passengers were wearing seat belts at the time of the collision.

S.C. Highway Partol responded to the scene at 5:05 p.m. Saturday.

According to the SCHP report, Patterson and Mobley were traveling north on High Tower Road when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and the driver lost control. The vehicle then went off the left side of the roadway and struck a guard rail.

SCHP Spokesperson Gary Miller said there will not be further investigation into the cause.

Patterson is one of 9 fatalities on South Carolina roadways between July 10 and July 12, according to a statement from the South Carolina Department of Public Safety.
