People in York County may get an early peek at an upcoming film and series project.

Three Kings Studios will start filming Monday for “Church + Main” in York County. The project includes a main film followed up by a series. Filming will last a week and include sites at Cambria Hotel in Rock Hill and Good Life Organic Kitchen in Rock Hill. Other sites are in Charlotte, Concord and Kannapolis, N.C.

“It’s all happening within about five days,” said Renee Beach, who is involved in promoting the project for Kannapolis, N.C.-based Three Kings Studios.

Three Kings focuses on family-friendly, faith-based entertainment. “Church + Main” story is about an unconventional rock star-turned-preacher who comes to a traditional church, according to the studio.

The studio keeps production local as much as possible.

“This area is diverse enough to look like we are jumping all over the globe,” Three Kings CEO Josh Quincey said in a statement Friday. “Unless it’s absolutely necessary to do otherwise, we will film here.”

The Rock Hill and Fort Mill sites could play prominently in shooting.

“Friends had their Central Perk as the local hangout,” Beach said. “Good Life in Fort Mill is going to be kind of the setup for the local hangout.”

The lead in the production is Rock Hill native Collin David Beach. The cast also includes Ikeem Boseman, cousin of late actor and South Carolina native Chadwick Boseman.

After filming, editing is likely to take six or eight weeks after which a red carpet premiere schedule and bidding for streaming rights will be determined. Quincey said Friday the hope is filming Monday is just the start for his project.

“We hope to make this a long-lasting series to be shot in the Charlotte metro area, including Rock Hill and surrounding areas,” Quincey said.
