There were bicycles, strollers, scooters and more Thursday as the children, staff and families at Woodhaven Baptist Church Child Development Center celebrated America’s independence with their annual parade around the block in Rock Hill.

Hundreds of people – led by a Rock Hill Police Department car and Rock Hill Fire Department truck with sirens blaring – marched around the block festooned in red, white and blue.

Jordyn Ford, 7, rode her bicycle next to her dad, Jeffrey Ford, who was draped in not one but two American flags pinned together, with an Uncle Sam flag hat to boot.

“He looks kinda silly,” Jordyn said.

But Jeffrey Ford said that for July 4, the best way to show love for America is to dress the part.
