More donations are coming in for residents on Blackmon Road, after two houses on the unpaved street recently received donated air conditioners.

June Barnette says he recently picked up two new air conditioners that will be given to other needy residents on the street off of Albright Road, where many residents lack access to utility services. The units were donated by a disabled Catawba residents who wanted to help out after seeing recent coverage of the area’s needs in the Herald.

Later, Barnette plans to pick up seven boxes of donated clothes from a Lancaster couple that will be distributed to other residents in the area.

Others who want to help can call Barnette at 803-322-6866, or the social concerns ministry of Lake Wylie Lutheran Church at 803-548-5489.
