Giti seeking bids for Chester County tire plant construction

Officials with the state Department of Commerce and Chester County Economic Development will meet with construction subcontractors interested in bidding on the Giti Tire plant at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Gateway Conference Center.

Construction schedules, details on current and upcoming bid packages and contractor pre-qualification forms will be available. The project’s construction management team will be on hand to answer questions.

Giti is building a $560 million plant in Chester County that is expected to create 1,700 new jobs over the next decade. The construction project is being managed by Shimizu North America LLC.
