A Rock Hill man died in a weekend crash after a pickup truck he was driving hit a tree, officials said.

Michael Jonas, 54, died Saturday night at the scene of the crash on Rambo Road south of Rock Hill, according to Sabrina Gast, York County coroner.

The Ford F-350 pickup truck went off the road after 8 p.m., said Lance Cpl. Lena Butler of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Jonas was the only person in the truck, Butler said.

The crash area is west of S.C. 72 south of Rock Hill.

The collision remains under investigation by the S.C. Department of Public Safety and the coroner’s office.
