Someone who stopped into a Rock Hill grocery store will soon be, nearly, a quarter-millionaire.

The Publix at 1735 Heckle Blvd. sold the first Palmetto Cash 5 rolling jackpot ticket winner. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn Wednesday night. The jackpot win, with odds of 1 in 850,668 was good for $240,000.

The winning numbers for Wednesday night’s drawing were 10, 17, 20, 28 and 30.

The new game started March 3 and rolled over, increasing in prize money, 10 times before the Rock Hill player hit with the lucky ticket. The jackpot now resets to $100,000.

South Carolina Education Lottery officials ask players in the area to check their tickets. The winner has 180 days to claim the prize.
