York County Special Olympics golfer Scott Rohrer set a world record Thursday for low score for special olympians when he fired a six under par 66 to continue his lead at the Special Olympics world games in Los Angeles.

Rohrer, 25, from the Lake Wylie area, leads the field with a 10 under score after three rounds, with one round left to play.

Rohrer is a past national champion golfer in Special Olympics events who has competed as far away as Europe. His exploits have been featured this week in ESPN’s coverage of the Special Olympics games.
