Motorcyclist dies after York County crash, SC highway patrol says

The driver of a motorcycle who crashed overnight in western York County has died, officials said.

The 2006 Harley-Davidson hit a ditch and overturned off Colony Acres Road near McConnells before 11:30 p.m. Monday night, S.C. Highway Patrol Master Trooper Brandon Bolt said.

The area is southwest of Rock Hill and south of York.

The name of the driver killed in the wreck has not been released by the York County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation.

The fatal crash is the 28th in 2024 in York County in 2024, according to S.C. Department of Public Safety statistics. In 2023, 30 people died on York County Roads, and 28 people were killed in York County crashes in 2022.
