York, Clover named two of SC’s most charming small towns

York and Clover are being recognized as two of the best small towns in the state.

Both York County towns were listed in the top 15 in South Carolina, according to rankings compiled by OnlyInYourState.com.

York is listed first in the rankings, with the website describing the county seat as a place “you should definitely visit.”

“There is quite a bit of history in this place,” the site says. “It's quite a place to visit with the family, especially in the fall when the leaves are changing colors.”

York’s near neighbor Clover – “a charming little place just south of North Carolina” – also makes the list at No. 11, with the town’s proximity to Carowinds being listed as its main attraction.

“But that should be a bonus,” the author writes. “Clover has a great downtown area full of shopping, antiques, and restaurants.”

The other small towns in the top 5 include Bluffton, Edisto Island, Clemson and Pendleton.
