A Lancaster County man who had been missing for a week has been found dead, South Carolina officials said.

A passerby noticed the body of Ronald Todd Estridge, 57, in woods off Cannery Road in northern Lancaster County Tuesday around 5 p.m., Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile said.

There does not appear to be any indication of foul play, Faile said.

An autopsy will determine how Estridge died, Lancaster County Coroner Karla Knight-Deese told The Herald.

Estridge’s body was south of the North Carolina state line with Union County, Knight-Deese said.

Lancaster deputies and emergency officials, with help from officials from Spartanburg County’s search and rescue, had been looking for Estridge since he was last seen Jan. 7 near his home in the same area.
