Two Republican presidential candidates will be making appearances in Rock Hill later this week, just days after both are expected to take part in the first nationally-televised debate of the 2016 campaign.

U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky will be speaking in Rock Hill on Friday, the day after he and nine other candidates for the GOP presidential nomination will take part in a Fox News debate in Cleveland, Ohio.

Paul will meet with voters at noon at Physicians Choice Laboratory Services, 854 Paragon Way. Paul is an ophthalmologist who formerly ran his own practice in Kentucky. The event is free, but the York County Republican Party asks that attendees RSVP for a ticket online at bit.ly/1MHm4sh.

Two days later, residents will have a chance to meet another presidential contender when Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin meets with voters in Rock Hill on Sunday.

Walker is hosting a meet-and-greet at 4 p.m. at the Frank Roach Post 34 American Legion Hall, 524 Heckle Blvd. Attendees are also asked to RSVP for that event at bit.ly/1K16KSc.
