Rock Hill man struck by train at railroad crossing in critical condition
A Rock Hill man was struck by a train on the crossing of Johnston and Wilson streets in downtown Rock Hill Tuesday afternoon and was transported to an emergency room in critical condition, according to the fire department.
The man is in his early 70s and was transported to Piedmont Medical Center.
The incident happened about 10:20 a.m.
Deputy Fire Chief Ben Grant said roads in the area will be blocked off for some time, but it was undetermined how long.
The Rock Hill Police Department declined to provide any details but said people should expect traffic delays.
Fire and police officials referred The Herald to Norfolk Southern for further information.
