Trojans can 'tag' their support with new Northwestern High license plate
Northwestern High School alumni and supporters will soon be able to sport their Trojan pride on the back of their car.
The Trojan Club, the school’s athletic booster club, is now accepting orders for a new, official Northwestern High School license plate.
The plate, which features the school’s Trojan logo and Northwestern colors, will be available from the S.C. Department of Motor Vehicles next month. The booster club is taking orders now for the first 100 plates to be distributed.
Fans, alumni and faculty should contact the club by the end of August to get their plate. Plates No. 1 and 2 were awarded during the annual “Night of Champions” event last year, and two other numbers have also been awarded, leaving 96 numbered plates up for grabs.
To reserve your number, email your name, bid, e-mail address and phone number to NHStrojansLP@gmail.com.
Opening bids start at $15 or more. An email will be sent back to you if you are the highest bidder or if someone wants the same number and what the current bid is. Bidding ends at midnight Aug. 30, and winners will be notified the next day.
The bid does not include the $70 price charged by the DMV for a two-year plate. Northwestern and the Trojan Club receive $30 from that DMV charge and that portion is tax-deductible.
Northwestern is the second high school in South Carolina to receive an official license plate. Wilson High School in Florence is the only other high school listed on the DMV website.
