GOP’s Mike Huckabee will take part in a Winthrop forum next week
Area voters will have another chance to see a presidential candidate in person next week.
Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor and Fox News TV host, will take part in a presidential forum at Winthrop University on Sept. 3.
The forum will be held at 11 a.m. in the Richardson Ballroom of the DiGiorgio Camps Center. Hosted by the Conservative Leadership Project, this will be the first in a series of planned forums with Republican presidential candidates around the state.
S.C. Attorney General Alan Wilson will moderate the forum.
The event is free, but those planning to attend will need a ticket from the Eventbrite page.
Huckabee’s talk is expected to focus on the Constitution, potential U.S. Supreme Court vacancies and the law, according to a release from Winthrop.
This is the second such forum the university has hosted in as many weeks. Last Tuesday, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush appeared in a forum at the DiGiorgio Center focusing on national security issues.
The S.C. Republican presidential primary is scheduled for Feb. 20 of next year.
