Charlotte Avenue re-opened in Rock Hill after summer construction project
Rock Hill city officials say Charlotte Avenue is reopen for traffic after nearly two months of road work but drivers may still see lane restrictions as crews finish the street project.
Charlotte Avenue in Rock Hill reopened last week. It was closed since July 7 while work crews replaced stormwater culverts and pipes, relocated underground water service lines, and upgraded sidewalks and curbs in the area. The street was closed between Edgemont Avenue and Crest Street, near Glencairn Garden.
Future lane restrictions will be temporary and short, officials said Tuesday. Drivers will still be able to pass through.
The road project is one of several currently underway or recently completed in Rock Hill as part of the city’s effort to improve stormwater drainage in areas prone to flooding during heavy rains.
