Rock Hill is celebrating Race Equality Week by offering residents the chance to take a virtual world tour.

The “World Tour: Passport to Learning” event will be held at the Boyd Hill Recreation Center, 1165 Constitution Blvd., from 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The annual event focuses on cultural education and awareness with the goal of improving race relations, achieving racial justice and creating inclusive communities. Tuesday’s event includes culturally diverse performances, food and information booths, and giveaways at the end of the program.

Rock Hill’s Race Equality Week celebration is sponsored by the Rock Hill Community Relations Council, in partnership with the International Center of York County.

The city has organized events to celebrate Race Equality Week since 2002. The event is free and open to the public.
