Officials: 3 injured in Lancaster County crash near Catawba River

Emergency officials have asked for two medical evacuation helicopters after a two-vehicle crash in Lancaster County near the Catawba River.

The crash – reported about 4:30 p.m. near a bridge on S.C. 200 southwest of Lancaster – involved a van and another vehicle. Emergency responders asked for two sets of extrication equipment and for two helicopters to stage to receive patients nearby.

The patients were described in emergency traffic as two women in the van a woman in the other vehicle.

Scanner traffic indicates that the roadway on S.C. 200 is “completely blocked.”
