Rock Hill man plans ‘major Christmas’ after $100K lottery win
A Rock Hill man plans to surprise his wife and have a “major Christmas” after winning $100,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket.
The man told lottery officials he was shaking, sweating and shouting when he discovered he had a winning ticket.
Without telling his wife, he drove from Rock Hill to Columbia to collect the prize money from the $5 Pure Gold scratch-off he purchased from Lam Mart LLC on Old York Road in Chester, according to a release from South Carolina lottery officials.
He planned to surprise his wife when she got home.
“It’s going to shock her,” he said in the release. “We’ll have a major Christmas.”
For selling the claimed ticket, Lam Mart received a commission of $1,000.
