Police search for missing diabetic York man

Authorities are searching for a missing York man who is endangered and may need medical assistance.

Harold Robert Helms, 59, was last seen about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. He walks with a cane, has diabetes and “multiple other medical issues,” according to a release from the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Helms is approximately 165 pounds and 5-foot, 11-inches tall with gray hair. His last known address was 2395 S. Hwy. 161 in York.

The Herald’s news partner, WSOC-TV, said deputies used search dogs and a SLED helicopter overnight to search for Helms. The search was unsuccessful and authorities have reached out to ask for public help.
