Zombies will take over downtown Rock Hill Saturday at the Old Town Zombie Crawl 5K and Fun Run. Grand Marshals are Kent Wagner and Mike Mundy, who have appeared as zombies on “The Walking Dead.” Both will be available for photos and will judge the Zombie Vignette Contest and Zombie Makeover Challenge.

A USATF Certified 5K starts at 3:30 p.m., a free Fun Run at 3 p.m. The event also features a Get Fit Kids Zone, Zombie Makeover Challenge and an after party.

Adult and youth participants can run, or walk, as a human or a zombie. Team registration is available and this year’s teams will compete for trophies: one for the team with the best aggregate timing score and the other for the team with the most members. Top male and female finishers in each age division will also win prizes. Timing services will be managed by Start2Finish.

The Fun Run is wheelchair/stroller accessible. Registration is required and the first 50 children age 12 and younger will get a free T-shirt and the first 100 children will receive a Healthy Kids Bag. The first 400 registered 5K participants will get an official OTZC T-shirt, Swag Bag and race medal.

The vendor area features free photos in the On the Spot Photo Booth, Arrowpointe Federal Credit Union will have their cash machine, and the Upper Palmetto YMCA will be coordinating the Get Fit Kids Zone. Zombie Makeovers are available for spectators from 3-5 p.m. by the Special FX Team at Evolve Artistry and Salon. Cost ranges from $5-$20.

Up to 20 contestants will compete in the Zombie Makeover Challenge for a chance to win a grand prize which includes tickets for two from Atlanta Movie Tours to tour “The Walking Dead” filming locations near Senoia, Ga. Entry fee is $10. The winner will be selected on the Old Town Zombie Crawl Facebook page.

The after party will feature the film “Night of the Living Dead” and the short film, “Rotten Love.” The party is hosted by the Underexposed Film festival yc at the Community Performance Center. Tickets are $6 and concessions will be available.

A special meet and greet will be held for Wagner and Mundy during the party. Proceeds will benefit the Arts Council of York County. Doors open at 5 p.m.; films start at 6.

Complete event information is available at OldTownZombieCrawl.com. Proceeds will benefit The Heart2Heart Foundation.
