One person was killed after a single-car crash in Chester County on Tuesday, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.
The crash happened about 10:15 a.m. on S.C. 72 near Craigbrow Circle, according to Lance Cpl. Gary Miller, a Highway Patrol spokesman. A 2001 Nissan sedan was traveling north on S.C. 72 when the vehicle left the right side of the road and struck a culvert, then a tree.
The driver, 52-year-old Richard “Ricky” Revels of Revels Drive in Chester, was taken by ambulance to Piedmont Medical Center, where he later died, according to Chester County Coroner Terry Tinker. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday morning.
No other vehicles were involved and Revels was the only occupant of the Nissan, Miller said.
Revels, who was wearing a seat belt and was entrapped, had to be extricated.
