Nation Ford band wins state championship
Nation Ford High School won state marching band competition Saturday at Spring Valley High School, according to information from The Fort Mill Times.
The title followed the band winning the 4A Upper State competition where York County swept the top spots at the competition. York Comprehensive High School was second and Northwestern High School was third. They also competed Saturday.
Heading into the state competition, Nation Ford band director Martin Dickey said his band been performing well.“I am excited that the students love the show, love to perform, and are maturing over the course of the season.”
Fort Mill High School competed in the Bands of America Super Regional competition on Saturday. The band performed in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome during the two-day competition. Forty-three bands from 12 states will compete in the preliminary competition. The top 12 bands advance to the finals.
