Heading to Winthrop for the Democratic forum? Take an umbrella
Anybody headed to Winthrop University for Friday night’s Democratic forum might want to bring an umbrella.
Rain is falling in Rock Hill ahead of the nationally-televised forum on campus, and could continue on and off throughout the day.
Organizers will begin distributing tickets at noon and a line will begin forming outside the Byrnes Auditorium at 4 p.m., but the doors won’t open until 5 p.m.
Other events around campus today are also scheduled to be outdoors. A special edition of Hardball with Chris Matthews will be broadcast from an outdoor stage on campus. The Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton campaigns are both organizing campus rallies for Friday afternoon, and the S.C. Republican Party will also be holding a press conference outside of Tillman Hall at 2 p.m.
Umbrellas will not be allowed inside Byrnes Auditorium during the forum.
