Interstate traffic near the stateline is moving normally again after a Tuesday morning car crash on Interstate 77 near exit 88-Gold Hill Road backed up cars for several miles, also affecting U.S. 21 north.

During the delays, drivers traveling north from South Carolina to North Carolina were exiting at exits 83 and 85 near Fort Mill, which has caused U.S. 21 to become clogged as commuters detoured there before returning to the interstate at exit 90. The traffic backup started around 8 a.m. Tuesday as thousands of commuters headed to Charlotte.

At 8 a.m., traffic was backed up more than five miles on U.S. 21, with a steady line of cars south of S.C. 160.

Emergency crews cleared the wreck scene.
