Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum will kick off a three-day campaign swing through South Carolina on Saturday with a stop for breakfast in York.

The former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania, who is at or near the bottom of most polls, will be at Sandey’s at the White House restaurant, across York Highway from the Moss Justice Center. Sandey’s was once named Pope’s at the White House.

Santorum will “have breakfast with local officials and patrons” at 8 a.m., his campaign said Friday. The public is welcome to attend.

He last campaigned in York County in May, just three days after announcing his candidacy for the White House.

“South Carolina is one of the few states that’s got it,” Santorum told about two dozen supporters in May. “You’ve done a great job at attracting manufacturing, and what’s happened? You’ve got lots of folks moving into this state.

“We need to take back America and take back the pride we had in making things here.”

Santorum has eight other events scheduled through Monday, including stops in Columbia, Greenwood and Anderson on Saturday; Greenville on Sunday; and Myrtle Beach, Aynor and Conway on Monday.
