Fort Mill road reopened after three-car crash Tuesday
Multiple people were transported after a three-car crash that shut down a portion of U.S. 21 in Fort Mill late Tuesday afternoon, according to the Fort Mill Police Department.
The driver of a truck traveling north on U.S. 21 tried to turn left onto Epps Road about 4:40 p.m. and was hit by a southbound vehicle, according to Maj. Bryan Zachary, a Fort Mill Police spokesman. People in both vehicles were transported by ambulance with multiple injuries, although the exact number of people in each vehicle wasn’t immediately clear Tuesday night.
The truck was carrying automobile parts, some of which were “propelled” into a third vehicle, causing damage but no additional injury, Zachary said. Highway 21 was temporarily closed between Epps Road and Harris Street but was reopened by 6:45 p.m.
Additional information about the crash and any pending charges was not available Tuesday night.
