Both southbound lanes of Interstate 77 have reopened after a tanker truck hauling gasoline overturned Tuesday morning, according to the S.C. Highway Patrol.

The Highway Patrol said early Tuesday afternoon that both southbound lanes near mile marker 57 had reopened. Crews reopened one lane late Tuesday morning but kept one lane closed as they finished cleaning up the crash scene.

The lanes were closed early Tuesday after a tanker truck overturned. The crash happened about 3 a.m. near mile marker 57 on I-77 South, authorities have said.

The tanker was hauling gasoline, according to The Herald’s news partner, WSOC-TV. The Highway Patrol is initially reported injuries, although the extent of injuries is not known.
