Another presidential candidate will be stopping in the area this weekend.

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee will be campaigning at the Watershed Pavilion, 4229 Motocross Trail, Richburg, at 4 p.m. Saturday, according to a Facebook events page.

Huckabee will be in Chester County just two days after the top Republican candidates hold a nationally televised debate in North Charleston on Thursday.

The former preacher will struggle to make the main stage for that debate, however. Low poll numbers have relegated Huckabee to the earlier debate in recent months, with his national poll numbers averaging around 1 percent.

The socially conservative candidate’s appeal to evangelical Christians propelled him to a win in the Iowa caucuses when he last ran for president in 2008.

On the same day Huckabee is in Richburg, fellow Republican and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz will hold a forum on national security in Fort Mill. That event will be open to the public at 10:30 a.m.

The S.C. Republican presidential primary is Feb. 20.
