Grand opening for York County’s Hubbard Fire Training Center on Saturday
County officials will host a formal grand opening Saturday of York County’s new fire training center, and honor its namesake, Anna Hubbard Moore, the late assistant county manager.
The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at the training center, 2500 McFarland Road.
The event will include dedicating a plaque to Moore and a presentation to her family, including her surviving daughter and mother.
Moore helped guide the construction of the center as assistant county manager, until she was shot to death in her home July 5 along with her son and his girlfriend by Moore’s husband in a case authorities determined to be a triple murder-suicide.
The county’s new facility is called the Anna K. Hubbard Fire Training Center.
