Sanders supporter, NAACP head to speak in Rock Hill on Saturday

A former NAACP president will be speaking in Rock Hill on Saturday on behalf of the Bernie Sanders presidential campaign.

Ben Jealous, an activist and the former head of the national civil rights organization, is on a tour of South Carolina after announcing his endorsement of the Vermont senator in the Democratic presidential race on Friday.

Jealous will hold a “Racial Justice Town Hall” at the Palmetto Room, 150 E. White St., at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The event is free and open to the public, but those attending are encouraged to RSVP on the town hall’s webpage.
