Longer absentee hours, precinct changes in York Co. for primaries
Can’t make it to the polls for South Carolina’s presidential primaries later this month?
York County’s voter registration and election office will have extended hours this weekend for absentee voting in both the Republican and Democratic races.
The election office at 13 S. Congress St., York, will be open for voters to cast ballots in person from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Voters who can’t make it to the Feb. 20 GOP primary or the Feb. 27 Democratic primary can vote at the county election headquarters during regular business hours – 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Republicans can vote until the day before their primary, Feb. 19, while Democrats can vote until close of business Feb. 26.
Anyone casting a ballot will need a photo ID – a driver’s license, state-issued ID, passport or military ID. Voters can have a free photo ID created at the elections office during their visit.
All election precincts in the county will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on polling day, with two location changes due to scheduling conflicts:
▪ Residents of the Laurel Creek precinct will vote at Westminster Catawba Christian School, 2650 India Hook Road, Rock Hill.
▪ Residents of the Pole Branch precinct will vote at Scherer Memorial Presbyterian Church, 4800 Charlotte Highway, Lake Wylie.
