With only one day left to go before Saturday’s GOP presidential primary, another candidate will make a stop in Rock Hill.

Carson will visit seniors Friday at Park Pointe Retirement Community off S.C. 5.

A news release says Carson will “meet with more than 250 seniors and military veterans” during the visit, which is otherwise not a public event.

“Dr. Carson will make some comments, take questions and pose for pictures with seniors,” says the release from ACTS Retirement-Life Communities, which manages Park Pointe.

This will be Carson’s third visit to York County in little more than a week. On Feb. 11, the retired neurosurgeon spoke to evangelical voters at the Carolina Values Summit at Winthrop University, then followed up with an appearance at Morningstar Fellowship Church in Fort Mill during Sunday services.

Carson is trailing the rest of the Republican field in most polls heading into Saturday’s primary, and will need to build on poor performances in Iowa and New Hampshire to keep his presidential campaign going.
