Now that South Carolina’s presidential primaries are over, the next stage in choosing a presidential nominee begins.
On Saturday, the York County Democratic Party will hold its precinct reorganization meetings at Freedom Temple in downtown Rock Hill, where officers will be chosen for each precinct in the county.
Organizing precincts is the first step in the nominating process. From Saturday’s meeting, delegates will be chosen for the county and state Democratic conventions, as well as the national party convention in Philadelphia in July where the party’s presidential nominee will be formally chosen.
Saturday’s meeting will also choose county party officers. It will begin at 10 a.m.
To be eligible to participate in your precinct organization or be a delegate at any level, you must have voted in the Democratic presidential primary on Feb. 27.
