Indian Land goes to the dogs
Slobbery dogs splashed around in a kiddie pool, while others snoozed in the shade Saturday before the Doggie Dash in Indian Land.
After a soccer game finished and the stands were cleared, they lined up in single file with their humans and waited for the bull horn.
Some sprinted with such force, they nearly left their owners barely on two feet as they dashed nearly a mile to the finish line. Other pups took a more laid-back approach and strolled to the finish.
They all gathered for a cause: to raise money for the Lancaster County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. The event, held by the Lancaster Woman’s Club, drew nearly 50 dogs and their humans to the Walnut Creek Park. –Tracy Kimball
