Report: Mother rammed car into Rock Hill home with baby in backseat
A Rock Hill woman was jailed after ramming her car into her ex-boyfriend’s home with their 10-month old son in the car with her, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.
Jessica Shannon Hinson, 34, of Rolling Ridge Road, was charged with unlawful neglect of a child, malicious injury to property and reckless driving, according to jail records. She was placed in the York County Detention Center without bond.
Deputies responded to a home on the 300 block of Farmwood Lane about 2 a.m. Thursday, according to a sheriff’s report. The victim said Hinson, who is his ex-girlfriend and the mother of his child, rammed her car into his home.
The victim was asleep and woke up to Hinson banging on his front door and windows, deputies said. She broke several concrete planters on the back porch then went to the driveway and “rammed” her car into the house. Hinson was reportedly spinning the tires when her ex-boyfriend came out.
Hinson began hitting the victim, who pushed her off of him and held her to the ground, deputies said. She also ripped his shirt off of him.
Officers found several broken planters near the porch and skid marks behind the silver Volvo sedan, the report states.
Hinson told deputies she was bringing the baby to her ex-boyfriend’s home “because she needed a few hours break from her child.” She admitted to hitting the planters “because she was mad,” and that her son was in the car with her.
Hinson admitted to drinking a few hours earlier and was given field sobriety tests, which she passed, deputies said.
