A Rock Hill woman won’t be joking when she tells her family and friends she won $250,000 from a lottery ticket.
The woman, who declined to be identified, cashed in her winning Quarter Million Dollar Cashfall ticket on Friday - April Fool’s Day, according to S.C. Education Lottery officials. She bought the ticket at H&H Mart on Willowbrook Avenue in Rock Hill.
“It’s crazy,” she told lottery officials. “I don’t have to worry about money.”
To celebrate, she’s taking the family out to dinner.
“How about McDonald’s?” she said. “April fools.”
Lottery officials said the woman bought the scratch-off ticket about a week ago, keeping it in her coat pocket. She turned in the winning ticket Friday to lottery officials in Columbia.
The woman is the third Cashfall winner. Two winning tickets remain.
For selling the winning ticket, H&H Mart will receive a $2,500 commission.
