Taste of the Carolinas at Carowinds brings tasting sessions, celebrity chefs

The second Taste of the Carolinas festival at Carowinds runs Saturdays and Sundays, April 9 through May 1.

Food booths will open from 11 a.m. until two hours before the park closes.

Guests will be able to purchase and sample cuisine from seven regions: Asheville, NC/Mountain Region; Upstate SC Region; SC Lowcountry Region; SC BBQ Region; Outer Banks, NC; Lexington, NC; and Charleston, SC.

Wine and craft beer lovers can enjoy a tasting experience during sampling events with wine and craft beer experts. Foodies can also learn cooking secrets from some of today’s top chefs as they host cooking demonstrations.

Food Network personality Damaris Phillips, will kick off Taste of the Carolinas at 1 and 4 p.m. Saturday as she gives guests her take on Southern cuisine inside Carowinds’ Harmony Hall. Phillips is the current host of “Southern at Heart.”

The festival will also feature local musical groups, including the Jeff Luckadoo Band, Tony Barnes and Back Porch Orchestra.

Food and beverages for Taste of the Carolinas are not included with park admission. Guests must be 21 or older to buy or consume alcoholic beverages.
