Cooperative Way in York will be closed for two hours Thursday while emergency responders stage an accident reenactment, according to the York Police Department.
The roadway, which runs from Alexander Love Highway to East Liberty Street, will be closed from 9 to 11 a.m., York police Chief Andy Robinson said. First responders from several agencies will be staging a car crash and filming a video to be shown to York Comprehensive High School students.
The video will demonstrate the effects of drinking and driving in advance of prom season, Robinson said. York Fire Department, Piedmont EMS and a trauma helicopter will be used to set up the scenario, and drama students from York Comprehensive High School will be the actors.
Barricades will be placed at the ends of the road. Robinson said the roadway should be opened before 11 a.m.
