York County sheriff’s deputies have arrested the suspect they believe was being chased by an officer when she was injured in a car wreck.

Jamil Omire Ali is charged with failure to stop for blue lights, driving without a license and possession of marijuana.

Investigators say Ali pulled away from a traffic stop on Carowinds Boulevard earlier this month, leading to a pursuit that injured Deputy Marina Arbelo when she crashed her patrol car.

Arbelo suffered a broken collar bone in the wreck, as well as various cuts and bruises. She was transported to Carolinas Medical Center and continues to recover from the injuries.
