Grace M. Lewis has been named new chief executive officer for the Boys & Girls Clubs of York County. She will assume the role on May 23.

Lewis most recently served as vice president of resource development at Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont, where she grew overall giving by 33 percent, improved organizational management and served on the council executive team.

Gale DiGiorgio, chair of the local clubs’ search committee and governance board, said Lewis stood out among the 78 applicants who sought the job.

“Grace distinguished herself,” DiGiorgio said, “as a professional who excels in both program administration and developing strong external relationships that drive support for vital programming – a combination that is exactly what we sought in our next chief executive.”

Lewis is a certified fundraising executive, received her certificate in non-profit management from Duke University and is a graduate of Arizona State University’s Non-Profit Executive Leadership Program. She has received numerous awards for community involvement, including Paul Harris Fellow recognition in October 2015.
