Food Truck Fridays return to Rock Hill’s Fountain Park
Hungry? You only have a few more weeks until Food Truck Fridays return to Rock Hill’s Fountain Park.
The city announced the schedule for this year’s monthly food truck festival on Tuesday, with five dates running through September.
Like last year, food trucks will ring the park and live music will drift from the stage from 6 to 10 p.m. on the third Friday of every month, starting May 20.
This year, 30 food trucks will be featured – some new and some returning favorites from last summer – along with beer and wine sellers. The event will also feature painting, balloon twisting, and bubble art.
Food Truck Fridays were a big attraction for the new Fountain Park in 2015. Organizers had to add more food trucks to the bill and close additional streets to meet demand. The event proved so popular, an extra Friday was added last October.
But unlike last year, this Fountain Park event will be without the fountain, at least for most of the summer. The fountain was drained earlier this month so contractors can repair the jet system, which could take three to four months to complete. While the rest of the park remains open, the fountain is taped off while crews prepare to tear up the concrete and piping in the center of the bowl.
