Coroner: Fort Mill man died in motorcycle crash

The York County coroner has identified the motorcycle driver killed in a Friday night crash as a Fort Mill man.

Nicholas Columbo, 28, died at Carolina’s Medical Center from injuries suffered in the crash, Coroner Sabrina Gast said.

Columbo was killed Friday night in Fort Mill after veering off the side of the road, according to the Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on Hensley Road at about 6 p.m. after Columbo drove a 2000 Kawasaki motorcycle off the road and hit a construction barrel, police said.

Columbo, who was wearing a helmet, was taken by helicopter to the Charlotte hospital for treatment.
