Winthrop University confers hundreds of degrees; honors new president
Winthrop University awarded nearly 700 degrees to undergraduates at two commencement exercises Saturday at Winthrop Coliseum.
It was the first commencement services by President Dan Mahony, who took over as the 11th president of the Rock Hill campus about 10 months ago.
During commencement for the College of Arts & Sciences and College of Visual & Performing Arts, Mahony received the president’s hood. Later in the day, during commencement for the College of Business Administration and Richard W. Riley College of Education, Mahony received the president’s medallion and gave remarks.
The names of all graduates and the degrees conferred were published in Saturday’s print edition of The Herald, but are also available at heraldonline.com.
