Rock Hill’s Platinum Cuts makes cut: finalist to defend Steve Harvey award for best barbershop
Platinum Cuts has made the cut – and the defending champ for best barbershop in America is asking for support to defend its title.
The shop, with its original location in Rock Hill and second location in Fort Mill, was among the top four vote-getters in online voting to make the final round in the Steve Harvey Neighborhood Awards. The awards, nicknamed the “Hoodies,” are a national event with a nationwide radio and online presence.
Platinum Cuts won the award in 2015 – against competition from Washington, D.C., Atlanta and other cities.
“We are honored that we made the nominations, and we want to bring the title back again,” said owner Adrian “Ace” McCrorey.
Voting for the best barbershop among the four finalists is from 6 a.m to 6 p.m. June 8 at www.neighborhoodawards.com.
Platinum Cuts, in business for 18 years, is known for its philanthropy and giving back to the community, starting the business with free haircuts for school-aged kids and continuing to the present.
“We want to be part of good news, great things, in our community,” McCrorey said.
