Sharon volunteer fire department fundraiser dance, fish fry Saturday
The volunteers of the Sharon Fire Department in western York County are holding a street dance and fish fry Saturday to raise money to pay off the loan taken out to build a new station to make the community safer.
The old-fashioned street dance, featuring Shay Clayton and the Farm Boys Band, is from 6 to 10 p.m. on Woodlawn Street in Sharon.
A fish and chicken fry also will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., as well as vendors with baked goods, funnel cakes and other items. There will be an inflatable obstacle course and cake walk games.
All proceeds go toward the loan the department took out to build a new substation to better serve residents and reduce the insurance costs of residents.
